Description
Clarke Quay is a very popular evening and night destination in Singapore. It is located on the Singapore river, up from the mouth of the river. It is named after Sir Andrew Clarke who was the second Governor of Singapore, from 1873 - 1875. The area was originally highly polluted, and was restored during the 1980's. It also hosts many tourist attractions such as restaurants, pubs, river cruises, and the G-max Reverse Bungee. There is a covered stretch with a number of restaurants and pubs. This particular place is also the place where there are some boats tied up that act as restaurants. River cruises also are operational here.
