View from inside the Red Fort. The Red Fort is one of the most important symbols of India, the place where the Indian Government hoists the flag on the Independence Day. The Red Fort, constructed by the Great Mughal emperor, Shahjahan, was also the seat of the Mughal dynasty and the power that ruled over most of India till 1857.
