Markers to different parts of the National Orchid garden in Singapore, a guide for visitors so as to let them know the location of restrooms, the coolhouse, Burkill House, and other parts of the Orchid Garden, relative to the point where the person is standing. The National Orchid Garden is a garden boasting of an incredible collection of beautiful orchids, located within the premises of the Botanical Garden in Singapore. The garden was created in the year 1995, inaugrated by the Prime Minister. The Orchid Garden boasts of orchids of a total of 400 species and 2000 hybrids, with a total of about 60,000 flowers. There is a separate fee to enter the Orchid Gardens. Some of the attractions inside the garden include the following:
Misthouse: This is a controlled section of the garden with some beautiful orchids inside.
Coolhouse: The coolhouse is a section of the garden displaying plants belonging to the tropical highlands, with one of the interesting specimens being the pitcher plant (a meat eating plant)
VIP Orchid Garden: Includes hybrids of some of the VIP orchids on display (orchids named after important political personalities).
